As AI technology flourishes, a group of passionate young people in Tainan, the hometown of Jensen Huang, are dedicated to promoting artificial intelligence and sustainable environmental practices. They co-founded Aireco to redefine the economic value of resource recycling with innovative AI solutions, aspiring to create an AI-driven resource recycling ecosystem that injects new energy into traditional industries and transforms waste management into a high-value circular economy model.
Aireco has been selected this year as one of the first startup teams to join the renowned Plug and Play accelerator in Silicon Valley, showcasing its technology operation model in a video presentation at Computex 2025’s NVIDIA Inception. Below is a brief introduction to Aireco’s core technologies, corporate philosophy, and the application scenarios of NVIDIA’s Isaac Sim. Aireco Introduction
Aireco collaborates with NVIDIA to develop an AI recycling system, using computer vision to replace human eye recognition and robotic arms to substitute manual sorting and classification. Through data analysis and integration of hardware and software, it accelerates operations in traditional factories, providing enterprises with AI solutions for waste management and improving efficiency.
Aireco Redefines the Recycling Process
Aireco applies computer vision and robotic arms to waste sorting operations, effectively replacing manual visual inspection and manual sorting processes through artificial intelligence, big data analysis, and simulated training, enhancing recycling efficiency and accuracy. Its system assists enterprises in integrating hardware and software to accelerate the automation of traditional recycling factories, achieving the dual goals of intelligence and sustainable operation.
Aireco Develops Three Core Technology Products to Build a Smart Recycling System
RECO Vista: Enhances waste recognition and classification through actual production line image data and AI deep learning algorithms, increasing the reuse value of materials.
RECO Delta: Utilizes robotic arms for high-efficiency and high-precision sorting operations, significantly improving the processing speed and recovery rate of recyclables.
RECO Cognita: Based on data science, integrates the Internet of Things and edge computing to assist traditional enterprises in building a complete AI management system, effectively monitoring production processes and operational performance.
How Does Aireco’s Technology Work?
To train high-performance AI models, Aireco uses the NVIDIA Omniverse platform to design a 3D model of a product and alters its shape to resemble waste. Actual products can be photographed with a professional camera or a new 3D model can be created, which is then loaded into NVIDIA Isaac Sim to simulate a realistic training environment. By applying physical effects, these 3D objects are dropped onto a textured background. Subsequently, NVIDIA Replicator generates images and annotations of the scene, creating various images from a fixed number of 3D models to train AI, enabling effective recognition of waste categories and processing methods.
What is NVIDIA Isaac Sim?
NVIDIA Isaac Sim™ is a reference application built on NVIDIA Omniverse™, allowing developers to simulate and test AI-driven robotic solutions in a virtual environment based on physical reality. Isaac Sim is fully extensible, enabling developers to create custom simulators based on Open Universal Scene Description (OpenUSD) or integrate core Isaac Sim technology into existing testing and validation processes.
How Does Isaac Sim Work?
Isaac Sim operates on three basic workflows: generating synthetic data for training and fine-tuning foundational robot models, conducting software-in-the-loop testing on robotic stacks, and performing machine learning through Isaac™ Lab.
