Five Recent Incidents of Disruption in the WNBA Involving Green Dildos
The Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) has recently experienced five incidents of disruption during games, resulting in the arrest of two men by the police. The orchestrators behind this series of actions turn out to be a group of meme coin supporters. These unusual promotional events have also provoked strong dissatisfaction from the teams involved.
Meme Coin Group Admits to Absurd Marketing
In the past two weeks, at least five WNBA games have witnessed the throwing of green fake phalluses. The most recent incident occurred on August 7 during a game in Chicago. The masterminds behind this series of disruptions are a newly launched meme coin group known as Green Dildo Coin (DILDO).
Daldo Raine, a spokesperson for the group, admitted in an interview that they are the planners of these “alternative promotions.” He stated that the reason for initiating these actions was to protest against the prevalence of “KOL scam culture” within the meme coin community. He further pointed out that if they wanted to voice their opinions for this circle and promote their own token (DILDO), they needed to create something eye-catching and explosive; otherwise, they would have to spend money on influencer marketing.
Current market value of Green Dildo Coin is $9.49 million.
He emphasized that the design of the green fake phallus is a nod to the green arrow representing “price increase” on trading charts while also intending to pique the audience’s curiosity.
Two Arrested, But Initiators Claim No Connection
So far, two men have been arrested for participating in the throwing of fake phalluses:
- Kaden Lopez (18 years old): He told the police that after seeing related videos on social media, he bought a fake phallus to imitate.
- Delbert Carver: Arrested last Saturday in Georgia, the police charged him with throwing a fake phallus onto the field during a game in Atlanta. He was subsequently charged with disorderly conduct, obscenity, and trespassing.
However, Daldo Raine emphasized that these two men are not members of their group.

WNBA Teams Condemn the “Extremely Low-Class” Behavior
These absurd incidents have drawn strong backlash from the teams. Lynne Roberts, head coach of the Los Angeles Sparks, stated:
“This behavior is absurd and foolish; it shows a complete lack of respect for the game.”
According to the WNBA’s fan conduct policy, any audience member throwing objects onto the court during a game will be ejected from the venue and face criminal charges. Although initiator Daldo Raine denies that their actions are aimed at female athletes, some voices point out that these pranks still carry elements of misogyny and gender disrespect.
Meme Coin Market Plummets, Promotions Become More Aggressive
The emergence of such absurd marketing tactics in the meme coin space may be related to the downturn in the meme coin market. According to CoinMarketCap data, the current market size for meme coins is $71.06 billion, a nearly 45% drop from last December’s peak of $127.2 billion.
The mainstream meme coin issuance platform Pump.fun also reported a revenue of approximately $20.59 million in July, a staggering decline of nearly 85% from the peak revenue of $137 million in January, marking the worst record of the year.
Daldo Raine stated that they will adopt a more relaxed and “classier” approach to continue promoting the meme coin in the future.
