@silverfang88 Exposes Bybit’s Campus Activities
Bybit has entered campuses to hold events encouraging students to download the application and offering contract experience funds to attract participation in trading. However, this behavior has been questioned, as it may lead students lacking financial knowledge into high-risk trading. Furthermore, Bybit has been accused of inviting a large number of KOLs to Bali to cover up controversies, charging up to $1.4 million for each listed project and filing legal complaints against its competitor OKX’s wallet.
Bitget’s Campus Ambassador Activities
Similarly, Bitget has also been revealed to attract students through “Campus Ambassador Activities,” attempting to expand its user base through campus networks. These exchanges have adopted extreme measures to draw new users, even targeting university students who lack financial knowledge and risk awareness.
Media Calls for Trading Platforms to Stop Promoting Contracts to University Students
In response to this incident, the blockchain media Blockbeat has urged: “Please stop the practice of promoting contract experience funds to university students.” Recently, some cryptocurrency trading platforms have been distributing so-called “contract experience funds” to university students. Although the experience funds cannot be directly withdrawn, students can receive additional incentives for showcasing “profits” on social media. This behavior is essentially gambling inducement disguised as “financial enlightenment,” accurately targeting university students with weak risk awareness and insufficient capital management abilities.
Even though the industry is currently facing a bottleneck in user growth, this does not mean that university students can be regarded as a breakthrough for business expansion. If we do not want to witness disasters similar to “naked loans” repeated in the crypto world, and if we do not want to see young people turned into gamblers, we must start taking action from this moment onward and resist such behavior.
Bitget’s Mandarin Region Head Responds: Never Encouraged Trading
Bitget’s Mandarin region head, Xie Jiayin, responded by saying that they will support Blockbeat’s initiative, stating: “The Bitget Campus Ambassador Program aims to promote blockchain technology, popularize Web3 knowledge, and provide internship and practical opportunities for university students. Similar to other companies’ campus ambassador programs, this program involves rebates, but has never encouraged contract trading or the distribution of contract experience funds.”
He also pointed out: “Currently, Bitget’s cooperation with various university chains only revolves around popularizing Web3 industry knowledge, employment guidance, and internship opportunities. This includes the 2025 campus recruitment (which has successfully recruited 28 university students to work at Bitget), the 2025 Zhejiang University Chain Association hackathon, and the 0xU Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Web3 industry sharing event, among others.”
University Responses Focused on Career and Learning Exchanges
The announcement from Zhejiang University stated: “Zhejiang University Chain Association Statement: The Zhejiang University Chain Association has always adhered to the purpose of promoting Web3 knowledge and establishing a blockchain learning and exchange platform. In the ETH Hangzhou hackathon held in March this year, we collaborated with Bitget Academy. During the event, Bitget Academy focused on providing guidance and support related to technology and research, without any promotion or inducement related to trading.”
It further stated: “The Zhejiang University Chain Association has never previously conducted any campus activities involving trading with Bitget, and in the future, we will continue to adhere to the educational mainline, committed to promoting the healthy development of the Web3 industry and helping to build a clear industry ecosystem. We always insist on doing the right thing, collaborating with responsible and accountable institutions, and jointly contributing to a bright future for the Web3 world!”
Another mentioned chain association, 0xU, stated: “At 0xU, the Crypto Club collaborated with Bitget for the Web3 Career Day event held at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology this February, where Bitget did not engage in any form of user acquisition or inducement for trading. The purpose of this event was to connect the younger generation in Hong Kong with Web3 employment opportunities. During the event, Bitget shared a wealth of positions, including BD, operations, and analysis roles for university students to apply for.”
