Cryptocurrency Exchange Bybit CEO Ben Zhou Shares Insights on AI Integration
Today, Ben Zhou, CEO of cryptocurrency exchange Bybit, publicly shared on the X platform about how Bybit has fully integrated artificial intelligence (AI) technology into its platform operations and user services. He emphasized that while AI can significantly enhance efficiency and data processing capabilities, it is essential to retain a human touch to truly engage users.
How Does Crypto Exchange and AI Integrate?
I will share a few things that we do at Bybit, both for clients and internal usage:
For Clients
- CryptoLens: AI-powered deep analysis on any project that you want to learn in a 360 way. It gives you analysis on community, fundamental, …
- TradeGPT: Making technical analysis immediate and simple.
TradeGPT is an AI agent trained by Bybit that provides real-time price trend analysis and connects with various trading tools, especially suitable for professional traders seeking market speed. - AI Customer Assistant: An intelligent customer service system that balances efficiency and warmth. Bybit has also introduced an AI customer service system that quickly responds to about 80% of common user queries, such as KYC review and withdrawal progress. For situations requiring emotional engagement, human customer service still takes over to maintain service warmth.
Smart Operations: Six AI Internal Applications Enhancing Corporate Efficiency
In addition to client applications, Ben Zhou also shared how Bybit utilizes AI technology to optimize operational efficiency internally, covering areas such as testing, translation, internal training, project management, legal affairs, and programming:
- AITest: Bybit has a testing team of over a hundred people, utilizing AI automation processes to accelerate quality control before launching new features.
- AITranslation: Supporting over 20 languages and serving more than 160 countries, AI translation is not only fast but also aligns with blockchain terminology, accurately conveying every piece of information.
- AIWiki: AIWiki compiles internal policies, human resources information, and professional terminology, serving as an intelligent textbook for new employees.
- OSOP: OSOP is Bybit’s core operational system, centrally managing global activities and product deployments, enhancing project collaboration and advancement efficiency.
- AILegal: Bybit’s legal department uses AI to assist in document issuance and screening, enabling quick completion of everything from lending agreements to principal loan agreements, saving significant manpower.
- AICoding: Although still in the experimental stage, Bybit has begun exploring the potential of AI in foundational programming development, showcasing its ambition for technological innovation.
Striking the Balance Between AI and Humanity
However, even though AI is a powerful tool for enhancing efficiency, Ben Zhou still believes that “human service” must be provided. Using customer service personnel as an example: users facing issues need “quick and accurate responses,” rather than just interactive chatting. He added, “If AI has proper access rights and security mechanisms, it can support users in real-time, but in emotional or controversial situations, human interaction remains irreplaceable.”
Is AI the Standard Configuration for Future Exchanges?
Headquartered in Dubai, Bybit has become one of the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges since its establishment in 2018. Despite facing a hacker attack earlier this year that resulted in losses of up to $1.4 billion, its swift recovery of funds and enhanced security measures demonstrate a resilient crisis response capability. Now, through technological innovation via AI, Bybit is once again leading the industry.
Ben Zhou’s insights are not only a revelation of Bybit’s technological strategy but also a showcase of the integration trend between AI and the crypto world. As financial technology continues to evolve, Bybit’s practical experiences may provide a reference direction for other trading platforms.
