“BitcoinShrooms” Appears on Sotheby’s
The NFT project “BitcoinShrooms” based on the Bitcoin Ordinals protocol will be featured in an online auction at Sothebys.com, with 3 pieces available for bidding. The auction will end on December 13th.
“BitcoinShrooms” was designed by the artist Shroomtoshi, and Sotheby’s valuation prior to the start of the bidding was estimated to be between $20,000 and $30,000. However, the bidding price by Sovereign Individual has skyrocketed to nearly $50,000.
Michael Bouhanna, the Director of Digital Art Sales at Sotheby’s, announced this yesterday.
Sotheby’s emphasizes that “BitcoinShrooms” showcases the exquisite and interesting aspects of the Bitcoin revolution. The three auctioned pieces are as follows:
S
S has received 45 bids, and the current bidding price is $38,000. “S” represents self-sovereignty.
Sovereign Individual
Currently the highest bid ($48,000), inspired by Rees Mogg’s 1998 book “The Sovereign Individual,” which predicted the emergence of cryptographic digital currencies to avoid government control.
BIP39 Seed
Self-sovereignty means controlling one’s own Bitcoin private key, hence the name derived directly from the Bitcoin private key seed phrase.
Currently the lowest bid ($24,000), with a total of 31 bidders.
