With the continuous improvement of ChatGPT features, free users can access OpenAI’s flagship GPT-40 model, enhance responses through internet content, access the GPT Store, and ask questions using uploaded documents and photos. Users can also save chat preferences as “memories” and use advanced data analysis to analyze data from documents such as spreadsheets and PDFs.
Of course, the free version has its limitations, such as the daily capacity limit of the GPT-40 model. Once users reach the limit, they will automatically switch to the inferior GPT-3.5 model, albeit temporarily.
ChatGPT Plus
The paid version used by regular users, ChatGPT Plus, has a monthly fee of $20.
ChatGPT Plus has 5 times the capacity of the free ChatGPT version and can access updated tools in advance, such as the OpenAI macOS client for ChatGPT.
Additionally, ChatGPT Plus subscribers can access upgraded data analysis features based on GPT-40, enabling interactive charts and tables to be created based on datasets. Users can upload files for analysis directly from Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, or their devices.
ChatGPT Team is suitable for small businesses or management organizations, allowing them to have multiple ChatGPT licenses and collaboration features. The monthly fee is $30 per user (monthly) or $25 per user (annual), with a maximum capacity of 149 users.
ChatGPT Team provides a dedicated workspace and management tools for team management. All users in the ChatGPT team plan can access OpenAI’s latest models and tools, enabling ChatGPT to analyze, edit documents, and extract information. Furthermore, ChatGPT Team allows team members to create and share custom applications based on OpenAI models (similar to applications in the GPT Store). These applications can be customized for specific use cases or departments, or adjusted based on team data.
ChatGPT Enterprise
Enterprises with more than 149 users must choose ChatGPT Enterprise. OpenAI has not disclosed the price of ChatGPT Enterprise, but according to reports, the cost per user per month is around $60, with a minimum of 150 users and a 12-month contract.
ChatGPT Enterprise adds “enterprise-level” privacy and data analysis features, as well as enhanced performance and customization options on top of regular ChatGPT. There is a dedicated workspace and management console containing tools for managing how employees within the organization use ChatGPT, including single sign-on, domain verification, and dashboard integration for displaying usage and engagement statistics.
As part of ChatGPT Enterprise, shared conversation templates are provided to allow users to create internal workflows and bots using ChatGPT, while OpenAI’s API platform enables companies to create fully customized ChatGPT-driven solutions as needed.
ChatGPT Enterprise customers also have priority access to OpenAI’s professional knowledge models and product lines, including dedicated customer teams and training. They are eligible to sign business partner agreements with OpenAI, which is a legal requirement for companies wishing to handle private health information such as medical records using tools like ChatGPT.
This is a version of ChatGPT built specifically for university students, faculty, researchers, and campus teams. Pricing is not disclosed.
ChatGPT Edu is similar to ChatGPT Enterprise, but it supports SCIM, an open protocol for simplifying cloud identity and access management. OpenAI plans to introduce SCIM to ChatGPT Enterprise in the future. Like ChatGPT Enterprise, ChatGPT Edu customers can access data analysis tools, management controls, single sign-on, enhanced security, and the ability to build and share custom chatbots.
This is a solution provided by OpenAI for eligible nonprofit organizations, offering discounts.
Nonprofit organizations can access ChatGPT Team for $20 per user per month. Larger nonprofit organizations can receive a 50% discount on ChatGPT Enterprise, equivalent to around $30 per user.
However, the eligibility requirements are strict. While nonprofit organizations from around the world can apply, OpenAI currently does not accept applications from academic, medical, religious, or government institutions.
