Solana Actions is an API that can send signed transactions to the protocol’s designated program. Blinks then detects the Solana Actions API and builds an interface that simplifies the user experience.
For Access Protocol, Solana Actions allows users to purchase ACS subscriptions staked with SOL, while Blinks initiates transactions through mapped links published on publishing websites, and even popular interfaces such as Twitter.
Currently, CryptoSlate and The Block have launched subscription purchasing functions priced in SOL. Both companies plan to integrate the checkout experience directly into their websites. Access Protocol plans to launch Solana Actions and Blinks for an additional 20 creators next week and eventually expand this functionality to all 160 creators on the platform.
CEO of Access Labs, Andreas Nicolos, stated, “Solana Actions and Blinks are absolute game-changers for the crypto space and the Access ecosystem. Solana Actions simplify the user onboarding experience, and Blinks expand the breadth of participation. The impact of the combination of these two products cannot be underestimated.”
The protocol maps transaction links to specific Solana Actions. Blinks technology unfolds these links in an easy-to-use interface through a browser extension. Wallet users, such as those of the exchange Backpack, can directly enjoy the convenience brought by Blinks integration in their wallets, while other wallet users only need to download the Blinks extension created by Dialect and select the wallets they wish to enable Blinks on.
On the first day of release, over eight leading Solana teams were using Solana Actions and Blinks technology. Over time, we can expect to see more complex applications of this technology, further simplifying the user experience.
