According to the report from Nikkei, Japan’s second-hand trading e-commerce platform Mercari will enable Bitcoin payment by June this year. The payment-related service will be provided through Mercari’s subsidiary, Melcoin. While the prices of products on the platform will still be displayed in Japanese yen, users will have the option to pay with Bitcoin at the checkout stage.
Mercari has not yet made an official announcement regarding this matter.
