Fragile Infrastructure for Expressing Intent:
When intent aligns with users, transcending protocols and blockchain technology, utility theory would theoretically be maximized. Ideally, users should be able to freely express their intent across multiple applications and blockchains, customizing their preferences. However, the current infrastructure related to solvers falls short of this vision. In fact, the more explicit users’ intent expressions become, the more fragile the infrastructure becomes. This is because highly integrated solvers are required, and the added complexity may lead to monopolies and MEV, resulting in even worse outcomes.
