In late December of last year, the Avalanche Foundation announced through the Culture Catalyst program its plan to purchase selected meme coins on the Avalanche chain as a collection, thus recognizing and encouraging the culture and fun symbolized by meme coins.
The Foundation emphasized that in addition to well-known categories of cryptocurrencies such as Gas tokens, DeFi, NFTs, stablecoins, governance tokens, and real-world assets (RWA), meme coins also occupy an important position in the crypto field.

Avalanche Protocol Announces Selection Criteria
The Avalanche Protocol’s criteria are biased towards being strict, and many meme coins that have skyrocketed in the past year are likely to be ineligible.
Principle of Fair Distribution
The team did not retain token allocation.
Initial liquidity needs to be burned or locked.
The issuer relinquishes ownership of the community token contract.
Anti-whale measures, such as limiting the purchase quota for a single address.
Resisting Bots
To reduce the risk of token initial issuance being targeted by bots, the Avalanche Protocol encourages token developers to obtain whitelist access based on the following criteria:
Hold Avvy domain (.avax).
Hold a certain amount of AVAX.
Hold recognized Avalanche NFTs.
Recently interacted with Avalanche subnets and dApps.
Security
Contracts must undergo audits.
The address of the contract creator must pass due diligence.
Deployment on tools like DexScreener is required and without concerns.
How to Get Avalanche to Buy Meme Coins?
At the end of the announcement, Avalanche officially revealed the specific criteria for them to buy meme coins (standards):
Number of holders: At least 2,000 unique holders.
Concentration: The top 100 holders (excluding centralized exchanges) hold no more than 60% of the total supply.
Liquidity: At least $200,000 or equivalent total liquidity.
Liquidity providers: At least 50 liquidity providers.
Project lifespan: The project must have been in existence for at least one month.
Market capitalization: Fully diluted market capitalization of at least $1 million.
Daily trading volume: On Avalanche’s DEX, the average daily trading volume reaches $100,000, continuously for at least two weeks.
Avalanche officials have informed external media, Unchained, that they have started buying meme coins, but they did not disclose the specific currency or investment amount.
