According to the “Regulations on Confidential Investigation Operations,” in order to protect the reputation, privacy, and safety of the accused and other related individuals, as well as to ensure a fair trial, the investigation process should remain confidential. The Taipei Bar Association specifically points out that this principle is crucial during the search and seizure process.

The Taipei Bar Association expresses serious concerns over the behavior of the New Taipei City Police Department’s Criminal Police Brigade during the search operation. The police department not only failed to adhere to the principle of confidential investigation but also publicly shared photos and videos of the search process on their official Facebook page, which resulted in extensive media coverage and a severe violation of the privacy rights of the individuals involved.

The Taipei Bar Association emphasizes that the actions of the police not only violate legal regulations but also threaten the foundation of democracy and the rule of law. The association condemns such behavior as not only detrimental to the progress of the rule of law but also potentially harmful to it. They call for the strict compliance and protection of maintaining legal order and democratic freedom.

This statement from the Taipei Bar Association has sparked discussions from both sides, with some social media users believing that the association strongly supports the lawyers involved in the case, while others engage in legal discussions, stating that the police did indeed violate privacy rights and the principle of confidential investigation.

In addition to publicly releasing photos related to the investigation, the New Taipei Criminal Investigation Division has also actively sought assistance from victims through Facebook. This includes “NFTC,” “BNAT,” “MOCT,” “SOLA,” “CSO,” “QQQ,” “QAS,” “PT,” “DS,” “BAAS,” “DEC,” “DET,” “FITC,” “COR.”

If victims have been deceived into purchasing through fraudulent groups, they can fill out the form to assist the police in the investigation.
