Sam Altman and his affiliated companies also own 9.2% of Reddit and have served as members of its board of directors. According to CNBC, Altman wrote in a blog post in 2014 that after using Reddit’s services every day for nine consecutive years, he led a $50 million Series B financing for Reddit, followed by subsequent investments in Series E and F, which increased his stake to 9.2%. CNBC estimates that Sam Altman will make millions of dollars after Reddit goes public.
