Cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 company Bitget’s General Manager, Gracy Chen, has been selected as a representative to participate in the 68th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68), an important conference by the United Nations on gender equality and women’s empowerment. The event, with the theme “Using a gender perspective to address poverty and strengthen institutions and financing for the acceleration of gender equality and empowerment of all women and girls,” took place from March 11th to March 22nd.
Gracy Chen actively participated in discussions on important issues such as artificial intelligence, technology, and the empowerment of youth and women in the era of social media, to achieve a sustainable future. These meetings aim to promote inclusivity in cultural, social, and economic aspects, emphasizing the elimination of racism, raising awareness through innovative technology-driven strategies, exploring cultural diversity, and highlighting the role of international cooperation in community communication.
The 68th session of the Commission on the Status of Women provided a platform for governments, civil society organizations, experts, and activists from various countries to come together and reach a consensus on actions and investments to eliminate women’s poverty and promote gender equality. Solutions discussed at the conference include policies and programs that invest in addressing gender inequality, increasing women’s leadership, and narrowing the gender gap in employment.
Gracy Chen’s participation in this annual meeting also reflects Bitget’s vision of a fair future driven by the cryptocurrency revolution. Gracy stated, “The participants are committed to driving positive global change, which inspires me. I look forward to applying the knowledge gained from this event to promote diversity and empowerment within the Bitget cryptocurrency community.”
Gracy further emphasized Bitget’s proactive attitude, stating, “We recognize the lack of representation and participation of women in the industry. Therefore, we commit to investing $10 million in the next few years to launch the Blockchain4Her program globally, including incubation programs, ambassador programs, and blockchain women awards, to cultivate female entrepreneurial spirit and recognize achievements by women in the blockchain and Web3 fields.” Several female industry leaders have already joined the program.
Bitget’s core value is to create a more equitable future world through the development of Web3 and cryptocurrencies, empowering diverse groups regardless of cultural background, economic status, age, or gender. Bitget has taken a proactive stance in promoting inclusivity in the Web3 field and has become a role model for female opinion leaders in the blockchain industry.
