The fourth “Epic Sat” previously mined by ViaBTC, the world’s third-largest mining pool, is currently being auctioned on the cryptocurrency exchange CoinEx. This is the first public auction of Epic Sat on an exchange and the auction began on April 23, 00:00 (UTC+8). CoinEx users can immediately bid on the auction page, with a minimum bid of 1 BTC.
The auction will end on April 26, 00:00 (UTC+8), and the highest bidder will have the opportunity to acquire this rare “Epic Sat” token. To participate in the bidding, participants need to have sufficient funds in their CoinEx spot account. Only BTC bids will be accepted in the auction. Upon receiving a bid, the system will deduct BTC assets. If a higher bid is made, the assets will be immediately refunded, allowing participants to make a second bid. CoinEx will notify all participants of the results through internal messages and emails.
The first halving of Satoshi (the smallest unit of Bitcoin) occurs after 210,000 blocks, or approximately every four years, known as the “Epic Sat.” There are only about 32 Epic Sats in total, each of which is unique and noteworthy. Currently, there are only four rare Epic Sats in the market, which gives them unique historical significance and scarcity within the Bitcoin ecosystem. Sotheby’s has previously auctioned a “Rare Sat” that is even rarer than the Epic Sat, fetching a high price of $107,950.
