In 2021, the FSC enforced stricter regulatory measures on cryptocurrency exchanges, including mandatory compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations. Additionally, the FSC enhanced its monitoring of virtual currencies with the aim of preventing related financial crimes and safeguarding investor interests. As part of the government’s anti-fraud policies, the FSC will also introduce new regulations, holding unregistered exchanges criminally liable.
