Two months have passed since the 7.2-magnitude earthquake in Hualien, Taiwan on April 3rd. During these two months, the CoinW Taiwan team has donated $50,000 worth of goods and cash for post-disaster reconstruction to the affected areas through several domestic charities. Many roads to Hualien have been severed and the distribution of large goods requires manpower allocation, resulting in a two-month delay until all goods have been gradually delivered to the homes of the affected residents. The CoinW Taiwan team has purchased over 20 TVs, air conditioners, refrigerators, sinks, wardrobes, cabinets, desks, laptops, iPads, as well as countless household items such as dish soap and washing machines for the earthquake victims in Hualien, totaling $50,000 in goods and some cash donations, to help rebuild their homes in the future.
Immediately after the earthquake, the CoinW Taiwan team launched the “Taiwan Earthquake Disaster Relief User Assistance Program”, advocating that in the face of disaster, rescue takes precedence over industry missions. Unlike other exchanges, the donation recipients are not limited to users of the exchange or just airdropped platform tokens, where each disaster victim receives less than 100 USDT in assistance.
The CoinW team believes that the scope of this aid program should be expanded from CoinW users to all residents in the earthquake-stricken areas. Therefore, they have planned the “Non-Discriminatory Donation Program”, which does not limit whether the recipients are CoinW users, but rather focuses on disaster victims. CoinW will purchase and deliver goods based on the statistics of all material needs from charitable organizations, in order to provide tangible assistance to those who have lost their valuable homes due to the earthquake.
