Telegram continues to launch various “money-making games” to attract many cryptocurrency users to join its digital asset ecosystem, Ton. Yu Xian, the founder of the cybersecurity company SlowMist, stated that due to the excessive freedom of the Ton ecosystem, many phishing links or bots (Telegram provides different functions in the form of chatbots) spread through chat groups, deceiving users by pretending to distribute airdrops and stealing assets from their TON wallets.
Since Telegram allows users to purchase NFTs through auctions to obtain anonymous virtual phone numbers for registering accounts and using various services, Yu Xian pointed out that if these NFTs are stolen, the entire Telegram account will be lost. It is recommended that these users enable 2FA (two-factor authentication) to prevent theft.
