Considerations on the impact of tokens on games
Binance and OKX
have simultaneously launched the new IEO project – Fusionist, and the ACE token mining activity will continue until the 18th of this month.
According to official information from Binance, the strategy game Fusionist has already received a $6.6 million seed funding led by Binance Labs in May this year, making it a shining Web3 game project in the capital market this year.
Fusionist is a web3 strategy game that focuses on high-quality graphics and special effects. It is made using rendering tools such as Unity and HDRP, and has been recognized by the official Unity China team for its technology. It showcases high-quality gameplay visuals that are different from typical web3 games. The official website also provides actual gameplay videos for reference.
The gameplay of Fusionist is a turn-based strategy game where players take turns controlling five mechs to attack and defend each other, and the last surviving player is the winner.

Due to the team’s background in traditional game companies such as Tencent and its investment from Binance earlier this year, the quality of gameplay is guaranteed to a certain extent, attracting market attention. The base price and trading volume of the game’s mech NFT (Quartan Primes) have also increased, with the current price being around 1 ETH.

The game has just concluded its second phase of public testing, and when officially released, it will also be available on Steam.
In fact, Fusionist not only builds games but also has its own blockchain network called Endurance, which aims to attract more players through blockchain incentive layer networks. Endurance has been launched on the mainnet in January this year.
According to the official whitepaper, Endurance is a high-performance sidechain focused on digital entertainment. It forks from Ethereum and is compatible with EVM. It serves as the incentive layer network for the Fusionist game and will also serve as the underlying infrastructure for future community applications and game-related protocols.
Network name: Endurance
RPC URL: https://rpc-endurance.fusionist.io
Chain ID: 648
Symbol: ACE

Endurance uses ACE as its native token for various marketing activities to attract users and earn profits. For example, rewarding users who complete tasks, participate in IEOs, and hold existing NFTs for lucky draws and rewards.
There are a total of 147 million ACE tokens, and the token distribution plan and unlocking time are as shown in the table:

The sum of the team and investor shares is 37.5%, while the share for the community (airdrops, mining rewards) is about 37.4%, and the rest is used for ecosystem development.
If the Endurance network’s protocol generates revenue, 20% to 40% of the tokens will be burned as a mechanism to capture ACE’s value.
The game and the token can be discussed separately, that is, the game content and the Web3 elements:
Based on the information currently available, it can be seen that the Fusionist team’s game development technology has gained widespread recognition in the market, and turn-based strategy games are a common game design. There are not many concerns about the game itself, but further market testing is needed.
However, the marketing approach (token design) of this project still carries many risks. First, ACE token reward activities have already started when the Endurance mainnet was launched earlier this year. Although it attracts more attention, it does not directly benefit the game itself. Another concern is whether the value capture of the token can be effectively executed, which still relies on the long-term development results of the ecosystem. There are many uncertainties for a new project.
If the token mechanism cannot be effectively controlled, it may undermine players’ and the market’s confidence in the game content (even if the game has good quality), as seen in famous cases like Axie Infinity and StepN.
There are still many challenges for Fusionist to fulfill its vision. (This article is not investment advice)
